Kula Ho’omohala Pua (Honolulu Waldorf School), which translates to “school of the blossoming child,” invites you to join our dedicated community for the upcoming 2024-25 school year!

We are looking for qualified teachers for the grades program who are passionate, collaborative, innovative, and have a deep love and commitment to Waldorf Education. Our school is located minutes from turquoise waters, sandy beaches, and sits at the base of lush, majestic mountains. This beautiful landscape around us allows for many after-hours adventures and provides a peaceful setting for connecting to nature.

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
  • Completion of Waldorf Teacher training or willingness to complete Waldorf Teacher Training
  • Enthusiasm and joy for Waldorf teaching coupled with effective classroom management skills and a commitment to ongoing professional growth
  • Confident in and inspired by the foundational and evolving Waldorf curriculum
  • Demonstrates strong collaborative skills and a commitment to working closely with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community
  • Positive and effective communication skills (both written and oral skills) between parents and colleagues
  • Cultural competency and confidence working with diverse family and collegial backgrounds and an interest in professional growth as cultural expectations evolve in a socially just and equitable direction

The Honolulu Waldorf School is an established coeducational, independent school serving students from Early Childhood through Grade 8. The school is located on a beautiful 2-acre campus in Niu Valley shaded by majestic monkeypod trees. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum, with specialty classes including Handwork, Hawaiian Studies, Japanese, Spanish, and Movement. Our campus is also home to a thriving Early Childhood program, and we have chickens, ducks, and gardens, which our students help care for.

HWS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health & dental insurance, life insurance, participation in a 403b pension plan, paid holidays, a flex spending program, and a tuition remission package. Salary commensurate with experience; range is $49,000 – $82,000.
