All weeks will provide children the opportunity to experience group games, free play and special supplemental arts. The themes and activities below will guide weekly activities and are subject to change.

Week 1: Keiki o Ka Aina: Children will explore the ahupua`a of our Niu campus. Local geography and botany explored through hiking, observation and documentation.

Week 2: Keiki o Ke Kai: Explore the shallows and fishponds of our local shorelines. Children will be guided on limu gathering and fishpond excursions as they learn about environmental issues facing our community and how to help.

Week 3: Farming: Kick off the week with a field trip to a local farm. Bring back your knowledge to help cultivate our garden at our Niu campus. Learn fundamentals of soil health, growing food and pollination. Did we mention BEESWAX?

Week 4: Camping and Survival Skills: Build a hale, construct a solar over, learn basic first aid. This week children learn to strengthen their muscles of resourcefulness and our connections with others.

Week 5: Tie Dye Madness: If you don’t want it Tie Dyed, better leave it at home. Serious tie dying fun this week. Anything from fabric to food.

Week 6: Science Exploration: Slime chemistry lab, experiments with velocity and gravity. Aren’t children naturally conducting one ongoing experiment after another? Lets play with science.

Week 7: Creative Crafting and Construction: Reduce Reuse and Recycle. This week we will reuse, craft, sculpt, and construct our way through found and recycled objects.
