The Honolulu Waldorf School is looking for substitute teachers! We are looking for people who are able to be attentive and nurturing with children and maintain a clean, relaxed, friendly, and safe environment, while also following the planned lessons that align with the school culture and Waldorf philosophy. All staff members are also expected to uphold and model the values and philosophy of a Waldorf school.
GRADES: The ideal substitute teacher for Grade 1 through Grade 8 has classroom experience and a bachelor’s degree.
EARLY CHILDHOOD: The ideal substitute teacher for Early Childhood (preschool and kindergarten) has experience working with young children.
- Previous childcare experience
- TB Test and Background Check
- United States work authorization
- Minimum high school diploma and completion of higher education courses or degrees in the field of education is preferred
- Must adhere to DHS and PATCH licensing requirements
BOTH POSITIONS:
- These positions are on an on-call/as-needed basis
- Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred for G1- Grade 8
- Minimum of 1-year relevant teaching experience preferred
- Background check, fingerprinting, and TB clearance will be required
The Honolulu Waldorf School is an established coeducational, independent school serving 150 students from Early Childhood through Grade 8. The school is located on a beautiful 2-acre campus in Niu Valley shaded by majestic monkeypod trees. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum, with specialty classes including Handwork, Hawaiian Studies, Japanese, Spanish, and music. Our campus is also home to a thriving Early Childhood program, and we have a giant tortoise, chickens, ducks, and gardens, which our students help care for.
