The application process begins with an Admissions Tour . These adult-only events provide parents and family members with an overview of Waldorf education and philosophies and an opportunity to view the classrooms and facilities. Lower School tours for Early Childhood and Grades 1 – 8 are held monthly. High School tours are by appointment. Please call 808-377-5491 to schedule your personal tour.

The remainder of the application process varies by program and can be viewed by selecting from the options listed below.

Submit the Registration Form for each quarterly session. Registration is accepted throughout the year and payment is required to complete your registration. Space is limited and filled on a first come, first served basis.

Admissions Process
  • Group interview – Parents and children will be scheduled for a group interview of approximate 45 minutes on a Saturday in February, March or April. Early Childhood staff meet with parents to discuss the curriculum and media impact and have a Q&A session. At the same time, other Early Childhood staff will observe the children in a separate location during play and story time.
  • Individual interview - Individual parent interviews are scheduled the week after the group interview.
  • Admission Decision - After the individual interviews, Early Childhood staff will decide whether to accept, decline or wait-pool the applicant. The decision is based on the child’s physical and social readiness and the parents’ willingness to work with the principles of Waldorf education.
  • The Director of Admissions will inform the parent(s) of the admission decision by letter by April 15.
  • Mid-year applicants – Individual interviews will be scheduled consisting of the child visiting the class for one hour while the Early Childhood staff interviews the parent(s) separately. Mid-year transfers will be informed of the admission decision approximately one week following the individual visit.

  • The Director of Admissions will inform the parent(s) of the admission decision by letter by April 15.

  • Student submits a drawing of a human being with the High School Student Application. Learn more.
    Just as we ask incoming High School students to submit a writing sample, complete math problems, and converse with us in person, the drawing sample of a human figure gives us an idea of students' drawing ability and provides insight to their visual thinking -- what students imagine a human being to look like.
  • Complete and submit the Transcript/Records Request form with the application.
  • Request or download the Administrative Reference Report from the registrar or administrative staff.
  • Request English and Math Teacher Reference Reports from the student’s current English and Math teachers. Download two copies of this form.
  • Request the Mentor Reference Report from the student’s current extra-curricular mentor or advisor. Download this form.
Admissions Process
Once a complete application has been received:
  • Interview – An interview with the parent(s), student and High School teachers is scheduled during which the student’s academic skills are evaluated.
  • Three-day visit – After the individual interview, the student will be scheduled for a three-day visit during which his or her academic and social development is assessed. Please bring one or two examples of what you consider to be representative of the student’s best work. This can be essays, poetry, paintings, musical performances, science projects, handwork or crafts.
  • Admission Decision – After the class visit, the High School teachers will review all transcripts, records and accompanying documentation as well as the parent(s)’ willingness to work with the principles of Waldorf education and decide whether to accept, decline or wait-pool the applicant.
  • The Director of Admissions will inform the parent(s) of the admission decision by letter by March 15.
  • Mid-year applicants – Individual interviews will be scheduled consisting of the child’s three-day class visit and the separate parent/teacher interview. Mid-year transfers will be informed of the admission decision approximately one week following the class visit.
